A Picture a Day (1/27/10)

“Breaking News” (Sony Bravia, around 10:30 pm)

Seeing this man as president never gets old to me. He works about 15 minutes away from me, yet, like most people, seeing him in a close-up on TV is the closest I’ll ever get. I never used to understand why people had photos of the presidents in their home until now.

There’s something I want to say about the state of our politics based on how the Vice President and Speaker of the House have been captured in this shot, but I’m not sure what it’s making me think/feel yet. I know it’s just a fleeting second, and they were paying attention the whole time, still, somehow, they seem to be standing in for some members of our government that would rather be anywhere other than listening to the president tell them to grow up and remember who sent them to office and why they’re there.
