There was much marvelousness to behold browsing the Handmade Mart after church this morning. Saw some old favorites–Jen from Yummy and Company (who made one of my absolutely favorite pairs of earrings), Cheri Lester (one of my favorite local photographers/collage artists), and Monica from Sugar Paperie who I visited with yesterday at the Fenton Street Market. Somehow I managed to make only a few purchases…
I’ve been in love with fascinators for a couple of years now (lest you think I only hopped on the Royal Wedding bandwagon.) I have a go to one from H&M, but I wanted to get something extra special for my friend Lisa’s wedding in a couple of weeks. I think these peacock feathers and rhinestones from Design by Night should do the trick.
I spent about 30 minutes over two visits perusing the wares by Shawna of Pinkkiss Pottery. I just couldn’t make up my mind. What I really loved about Shawna’s work was the sweet graphics—Windsor chairs, bears riding a unicycle, lacy flowers– hand drawn onto the porcelain. I also love that the pieces are slightly wabi sabi. Sigh and swoon. (p.s. You should check out her blog!)
Uhm, if this wasn’t backwards, you might be able to tell it says, “Quiero ser una estrella de rock.” And really, who doesn’t want to be a rock star? Not to mention how could I resist supporting Pyramid Atlantic?
