What shall I do with the 1 hour and 4 minutes till bedtime? Hmmmm….

Tonight’s a night of domestic activities….or perhaps domestic disturbances is a more apt description since yours truly is perpetrating said domesticity. I have to make the black bean, zucchini, and olive mix I’ll be having the next few days and earmark a few more recipes as I’ll be vegging it (and no-sugaring it) for the rest of the month starting tomorrow. I also need to iron the blouse I want to wear tomorrow (you know it’s wrinkled if I’m considering plugging in ye olde iron), which is a good thing since I have three thrifted white tees that—though freshly washed—have been hanging in my closet unworn simply because I’ve refused to fire up said iron. (Sadly, my drier is coin-op so I couldn’t do the just throw it in the drier trick.)
I’m contemplating moving the fridge this weekend and braving whatever grossness has been hanging out behind it for the past several years since I’ve never ever once since I’ve lived in this apartment considered moving the fridge for cleaning purposes. (I mean, doesn’t everybody just clean around the big things?) I also hope to sign up for a sewing class at a newly discovered place in my hood though that may also wait till the weekend when I actually get around to paying my bills and seeing if I can afford said sewing class this paycheck. It seems odd that I’m only now going to take a sewing class when I did, in fact, several years ago gift a friend with a hand-sewn quilt for her wedding. But that particular quilt was long on love and pluck and even a bit of artistry, but sorely lacking in technical expertise. (Come to think of it, I also hand-sewed a throw pillow, which my friend Karen actually sold to someone in her antiques shop!) I’m hoping the sewing class may re-ignite my quilting career as I have drawers full of scraps waiting to become something, and a class will also be a good way to meet people.
And I do need to meet more people. I adore the ones I already know but since none of them seem to be six degrees away from my future husband, I’ve realized I need to be much more pro-active about enlarging my circle. Not to mention, if there’s anything I’ve learned in the past few years, one never knows what big adventures might follow out of small adventures so it’s best to make sure they’re plentiful.
And now, to quote the 10th Doctor—allon zee (or allons-y, if you prefer your French written out correctly….)
